UMES Extension 19th Annual Small Farm Conference

UMES Extension hosts its annual Small Farm Conference November 4th and 5th. The event is in its 19th year of providing agricultural stakeholders with tools and strategies to increase farm profitability and sustainability.

Registration is now open for one or both days!

The first day’s sessions are “Plant Propagation and Seed Saving,” “Building a Beehive,” and “Controlling Wildlife Damage.” Bus tours in the afternoon take participants to Perennial Roots Farm in Accomack County, San Domingo in Wicomico County for a scrapple-making demonstration and to an industrial hemp facility in Dorchester.

Day-two topics touch on soil health and conservation, value-added product regulations, selling products to educational agencies, building cold storage, and more.

Both days include notable keynote luncheon speakers, networking opportunities and agricultural vendor exhibits.
