I’m sure most kids aren’t ready to go back to school yet, but I for one am ready for fall sports! High school football on Friday nights, weeknight field hockey and soccer matchups. We’re very lucky to have a ton of quality high school programs right in our backyards filled with student athletes that are more than ready to play at the next level.
Bay Country 97.9 has always been the place where local sports live. I remember back in the 90’s when we covered Crisfield Crabbers basketball. We hauled equipment and ran wires in schools all over the region, bringing high school play by play to the radio twice a week. Fast forward to our high school game of the week. From Chincoteague to Snow Hill, our team brought listeners the sounds of Friday Night Lights on Delmarva.
Now that I’m back hosting the Bay Country Breakfast, I am fully committed to covering local sports to the best of my abilities, but I need YOUR help. This is a call to students, parents or fans of local sports who want to be “reporters” for the show. I want scores, stats, highlights, videos, interviews. Let’s do this together!!
