The Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce is honored to host the 42nd Annual Easter Decoy & Art Festival on Friday, April 7 from Noon- 5pm and Saturday, April 8 from 9am- 4pm. This event is open to the public.
Local and national carvers and artists of all kinds exhibit and sell their work at this Chincoteague Island tradition.
Awards are given in various carving categories, art and photography. Special awards are given for best carving display and best art display. There is also a Children’s Choice Award given for a favorite artist. The Curtis Merritt Award of Excellence is awarded to the exhibitor who displays excellence as an individual, as well as an artist and/or carver. This award is voted on by the exhibitors. Awards announced 3pm on Saturday.
Wooden Easter eggs hand carved and/or painted by various exhibitors will be offered in a silent auction. This auction has been a highlight of the show each year, with some eggs fetching handsome sums. Auction ends 4pm on Saturday.
$5.00 admission each day with children under 12 free.
