| The Town of Saxis will once again be having their Town Wide Yard Sale this year on Sept 9, 2023, between 7 am – 2 pm, which will include 40+ tables in individual yards that will be offering a large variety of items, books, food, and decoys. Local carvers will once again be set up selling carvings, artwork, etc. throughout various locations within the town. Everyone is welcome to bring golf carts and lawn chairs.
Sherrye’s Snack Shack will be opening at 8 am and will be selling ice cream, milk shakes, snow cones and such at her shop. Sunset Café will be serving a Limited Breakfast Menu beginning at 6 am. At 11 am, they will begin serving Burgers, Hot Dogs with or without Chili, Chicken or Shrimp Salad Sandwiches, Crab Cake, Soft Crab or Flounder Sandwiches, Subs and Pizza by the Slice and French Fries or Potato Salad. For dessert, they have an assortment of cakes and cheesecake by the slice plus brownies. Capt E’s Hurricane Grill Food Truck will open at 10 am with Jumbo Wings, Crabbie Fries, Clam Fritters, Fried Shrimp Basket, House Smoked Brisket and Crabbie Flounder Bites. The restaurant will open at 11 am with a regular menu. Friends of Animal Control of the Eastern Shore will be selling Breakfast Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, and Burgers as well as a fundraiser table with awesome one of kind items. Donations of item(s) or baked goods are greatly appreciated for their table(s). 9th Annual Sammy Marshall Memorial Car and Truck Show to be held at the Saxis Town Harbor beginning at 10 am to 2 pm. The Saxis Island Museum at the Crockett General Store will be open for visitors. Various items will be on sale as well as Books by Local Authors. Raffle tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20 and will be sold at the Saxis Island Museum, Capt E’s, Sunset Café, and Sherrye’s Snack Shack.
