Worcester Health youth quit smoking and vaping program

Snow Hill, MD– Do you need help quitting smoking or vaping? If so, we are here to help! The Worcester County Health Department is offering a youth Quit Smoking and Vaping program, set to begin in April. This program is designed for youth ages 14-17. Join one of our youth tobacco and vape quit classes starting next month:

  • Snow Hill Health Department: 3p.m.-4p.m., Mondays, (April 17, 2023-June 26, 2023) at 6040 Public Landing, Rd. Snow Hill, MD  21863.

 

  • Pocomoke Health Center: 3p.m.-4p.m., Wednesdays, (April 19, 2023-June 28, 2023) at 400 A- Walnut St. Pocomoke, MD 21851.

 

  • Berlin Health Center: 3:30p.m.-4:30p.m. Thursdays, (April 20, 2023-June 29, 2023) at 9730 Healthway Dr. Berlin, MD 21811.

The program consists of ten weekly sessions that are 50 minutes in length. Through group support, you are able to meet with a trained tobacco coach who will support you during your quit journey. The program is designed to help youth develop and maintain positive behaviors. Participants will get to engage in key discussions that focus on the importance of physical activity, nutrition, enhancing their sense of self-control, and improving life skills such as stress management, decision making, coping and interpersonal skills. Additionally, they will learn to identify their reasons for smoking or vaping, healthy alternatives to tobacco use and finding people who will support them in their efforts to quit.

The Worcester County Health Department is committed to preventing tobacco and nicotine product use among youth and offering quit resources.
